Payment of taxes:

The due date for taxes is the first business day after July 1st each year.

Cheques can be made out to “FCID” or “Fletcher Creek Improvement District” and mailed to:

Your tax notice has instructions for paying online with an Interac e-transfer or from your Kootenay Savings Credit Union account.


FCID obtains revenue through the taxation of its members.  Properties are assessed according to

Each year, FCID is required to submit a new taxation bylaw outlining the taxes it intends to impose on each group in Assessment Bylaw #53.

As required by the Ministry of Community, Sport, and Cultural Development, these bylaws are registered with the Inspector of Municipalities.


The Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring there is sufficient revenue to finance the costs of operating, administering and maintaining the water system, as well as for infrastructure renewal when it is required.  Funding is also set aside to meet Interior Health’s requirement that FCID provide treated water to its members.

Each year a budget is prepared to estimate revenues and expenditures for the coming year.  The budget can be found under  “Documents – AGM Minutes & Business“.
